And So It Begins.

I know, I know, Thanksgiving isn't even over yet.  But we love Christmas around here, so this is what you get, I'm afraid.  Yesterday I was lacking a bit of enthusiasm, wondering what in the world to do with my Sunday.  So I decided that I didn't care if it was too early for Christmas festivities to begin. It's never too early for me! So we lugged our super heavy Christmas tree up from the basement and put it together in our front room.  We bought it after Christmas last year, in the sales (75% off!), so it was our first year putting it up and I am in love.

Christmas Trip, Part Two - England

We were lucky enough to spend ten full days (not including travel days) in England for Christmas and New Years, and had a great time catching up with everyone.  So many stories to tell, but instead, I will share our trip in photos.  I still need to get better about remembering that I actually have my camera with me, so many missed opportunities.  Next time for sure!

So... these are in a very random order, so apologies to anyone that knows this (which is everyone now - ha!)!  Blogger is not my best friend today, so that's as good as it's going to get.

We had such a great time seeing everyone, and are already looking forward to our next visit.  On a side note, anyone we saw in England (and those we didn't!), we weren't kidding about visiting us!  You are all welcome anytime!  Well, not all at once, but you know what I mean!  We hope to see you out in Colorado sometime soon!

What Happens When I Get Bored

A few days ago, with Chris still knee-deep with work, I wasn't in the mood to watch TV, clean or read.  But I also didn't have the luxury of doing something fun with Chris.  So I began wandering the house, trying to find some sort of inspiration.  I stumbled upon the leftover Christmas lights, and the rest is history, as they say.

I grabbed a long string of multi-colored lights, and thought... 'maybe I could wrap these around the stair railing... that might be fun.'

It was innocent enough, but then one thing led to another, and pretty soon our entire front room was twinkling with Christmas festivity.

The lesson here?  Hide the remaining Christmas lights from me if you don't want me to find a home for them.  A home where they can shine.

And to be honest, I am feeling the Christmas spirit a bit more now that we have lights up inside!

Oh, and I also found some leftover felt in my office that I turned into this...

I haven't been able to spread quite as much Christmas cheer on my blog as I had hoped, as I have been quite busy.  But I promise to share some Christmas baking fun early next week.

We are finally "warming up" here in Colorado after a week of negative temperatures, and it is very much appreciated after several slow drives in to work on slippery, icy roads.  Hope it isn't too cold wherever you are!
