Entryway Curtains - Yay or Nay?

Okay, so we have been debating about this for a while.  We have sidelights on our front door, and LOVE the natural light that comes through, but also appreciate the option of added privacy when needed/wanted. I keep seeing ideas for putting curtains on the front door, that can be tied back, or pulled closed, depending on our needs.  What do we think of this option?  I think it kind of adds a bit of character to the front door/entryway, as well as the functional aspect.

Here are some of my favorites that I have found.

I also love the idea of added "warmth" for Fall and Winter.  Just seems a bit more cozy!  Especially with hardwood floors.
